On Saturday at 4.36am Christchurch was hit by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. Fortunately none of our whanau or friends were injured, and our own house was undamaged. My only indignity was injuring my knees when the 'quake threw me down to the ground just a couple of seconds before I had planned to be there myself. What was as difficult was that on the next morning we were booked to leave New Zealand for 4 weeks travel as a part of my 2010 sabbatical. We decided to leave given that our whanau and friends were safe.
In that light, I've always been dedicated to serious research on my hobby. With a HotT pirate army in the offing, I decided to undertake some quality research into pirates, and where better than 'Pirates of the Caribbean' at Disneyland. I respected the request for no flash photography inside, but needed to take a couple of shots for the record.
And then there were other ideas for armies ....
But that's another story.
In the meantime our hearts and minds are still back at home with our fellow Christchurch residents who are still dealing with the aftermath (and the aftershocks) of the earthquake... God bless!!!
